After the great success of the XV Meeting of Penyes of Lleida Sud i la Franja<\/a> at the beginning of this month, last weekend the penyes from Castell\u00f3 took the baton with their big annual event: the Meeting of Penyes Barcelonistes of Castell\u00f3<\/strong>. Its XXIV edition<\/strong> took place in the town of Mont\u00e1n<\/strong> and brought together around 180 supporters representing around 20 penyes<\/strong> from this area. The event was organised by the Federaci\u00f3 de Penyes de les Comarques de Castell\u00f3<\/strong>, the Penya Blaugrana de Mont\u00e1n<\/a><\/strong> and the Mont\u00e1n Town Council<\/strong>, with the collaboration of the Confederaci\u00f3 Mundial de Penyes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Meeting got underway on Friday in the Mont\u00e1n municipal multi-purpose hall with the conference \u201cAmbaixades. La Hist\u00f2ria de les Penyes\u201d<\/strong> (Embassies. The story of penyes), by Salva Torres<\/strong>, vice-president of the Confederaci\u00f3 Mundial de Penyes. The talk, which gives a historical overview of the more than one hundred years of existence of the supporters\u2019 clubs movement, was followed with great interest by the supporters. Afterwards, the attendees celebrated a fraternity dinner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tribute to the Avi del Bar\u00e7a<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Saturday was a particularly intense day at the XXIV Meeting of Penyes Barcelonistes of Castell\u00f3. After a reception of the penyes at the headquarters of the PB Mont\u00e1n, there was a popular breakfast followed by a guided cultural visit to the Convent of the Servite Fathers<\/strong>. At midday, the activity moved to the Town Hall square to welcome the FC Barcelona delegation<\/strong>, led by the vice-president Antonio Escudero<\/strong>. Along with the mayor of Mont\u00e1n, Sergio Fornas<\/strong>, the president of the Federaci\u00f3 de Penyes de les Comarques de Castell\u00f3, Ximo Grifoll<\/strong>, along with his board of directors, and also the president of the PB Mont\u00e1n, Juan Hidalgo-Saavedra<\/strong>, were present. Miguel \u00c1ngel Cruz<\/strong>, president of the Federaci\u00f3n de Pe\u00f1as Extreme\u00f1as del FC Barcelona, did not miss it either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final party closed a meeting that also had a special remembrance for the \u201cAvi del Bar\u00e7a\u201d<\/strong>, who passed away last February. His son, Joan Casals<\/strong>, was present and received the affection and recognition of all those present in memory of his iconic father. All in all, the XXIV Meeting of Penyes of Castell\u00f3 was a great blaugrana party that left a very good memory to all the attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
