We move again to the Vall\u00e8s region. We have already talked about the oldest existing supporters\u2019 club, the Penya Solera Barcelonista de Castellar del Vall\u00e8s<\/a>, but in this area there are three more that have been created in this decade of blaugrana growth. Today, it is time to talk about Penya Barcelonista 1900 of Terrassa<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

On 11 September 1955<\/strong>, the starting signal was given for a great trajectory that began in the best possible way: with an inaugural dinner and the presence of the President of FC Barcelona, Francesc Mir\u00f3-Sans Casacuberta<\/strong>. It was three years since Mir\u00f3-Sans had achieved a mandate that would last until 28 February 1961. In November 1956, Mr. Nicolau Casaus<\/strong> and the club’s ex-player, ex-coach and technical secretary, the legendary Josep Samitier<\/strong>, took part in an event-colloquium on Bar\u00e7a’s current affairs<\/strong> at the time. The event was held at the club’s premises. <\/p>\n\n

In 1989<\/strong>, the Penya Barcelonista 1900 organised the Meeting of Penyes Barcelonistes del Vall\u00e8s<\/strong>, coinciding with the club’s 40th anniversary<\/strong>. The \u2018colla\u2019 of the Minyons de Terrassa was one of the animators of this event. A whole history of Bar\u00e7a passion was witnessed on that day. Today the penya is very active and shares social activities with trips to see FC Barcelona matches<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The city of Terrassa<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n

Terrassa is mainly known for being one of the great industrial and university cities of Catalonia. It has more than 218,000 inhabitants and is located at the foot of the Natural Park of Sant Lloren\u00e7 de Munt i l\u2019Obac<\/strong>, a large green lung next to the city. It has an important network of motorway and road communications that easily links it with the main Catalan, Spanish and European cities. It is also 20 minutes from Barcelona by motorway and 40 minutes by train. <\/p>\n\n

Terrassa is a dynamic, enterprising and lively city<\/strong>. Along with its very important industrial and economic potential, it has an extensive artistic heritage and a cultural life that is always up to date. The university offer is consolidating and expanding day by day, and the pace and physiognomy of the city is already prepared for the challenges of this century. Terrassa is a city to discover and to remember. The monumental complex of the churches of Sant Pere (VI-XII century), the industrial architecture of the beginning of the century and the modernist buildings, which are very abundant in the city, are worth mentioning.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Olympic spirit<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n

As far as sport is concerned, Terrassa has not been left behind. In addition to the many citizens who have participated in the Olympic and Paralympic Games and other elite competitions, the city has always stood out for its sporting spirit in terms of both practice and enthusiasm<\/strong>. In recognition of this sporting spirit and Terrassa’s great love of hockey, a sport that has brought many joys, Terrassa was the Olympic hockey sub-host in 1992 as part of the Barcelona Olympic Games<\/strong>. During the Games, the city was a party and the good organisation and selfless collaboration of many volunteers made those dates a time to remember.
