The debut of FC Barcelona\u2019s men\u2019s first team in the 2025\u201326 La Liga season had a truly luxurious prelude. The town of Maria de la Salut, located in the heart of Mallorca, was the setting for the 16th Meeting of Penyes of the Balearic Islands<\/strong> \u2013 a true cul\u00e9 celebration that brought together over 450 supporters representing 24 supporters\u2019 clubs from the Federaci\u00f3 de les Illes Balears<\/a><\/strong>. The host was the local entity, the Penya Barcelonista Maria de la Salut<\/strong>, which marked its 35th anniversary<\/strong>. The PB Sallent (Fed. Bages, Bergued\u00e0 i Cerdanya) was also present. The gathering took place in the town\u2019s Pla\u00e7a del Mercat, where attendees enjoyed a big open-air celebration. <\/p>\n\n

The strength of the supporters\u2019 clubs in the Balearic Islands<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n

FC Barcelona was represented by president Joan Laporta<\/strong>, accompanied by other board members and the Social Commission. Several former Bar\u00e7a players were also present, including Miquel \u00c0ngel Nadal and Joan Josep Estella<\/strong> (football), Juan Domingo de la Cruz <\/strong>(basketball), and Octavi Tarr\u00e9s<\/strong> (roller hockey). \u00d2scar Escoda<\/strong>, president of the Federaci\u00f3 de Penyes de les Illes Balears, led the penyes movement\u2019s representation alongside the rest of the board members of the Federation. Pere Jord\u00e0<\/strong>, president of PB Maria de la Salut, was the host. <\/p>\n\n

On the institutional side, the event was attended by Jaume Bauz\u00e0<\/strong>, Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Balearic Government; Jos\u00e9 Marcial<\/strong>, Tourism Minister of the Mallorca Island Council; Jaume Ferriol<\/strong>, mayor of Maria de la Salut; and Catalina Soler<\/strong>, mayor of Felanitx. One of Mallorca\u2019s most beloved figures, musician Tomeu Penya<\/strong>, also joined the celebration, sharing his culer passion with all the supporters. <\/p>\n\n

The 16th Meeting of Penyes of the Balearic Islands once again highlighted the strength and vitality of the supporters\u2019 clubs community in the region<\/strong>, as well as the excitement with which supporters approach the new competitive season<\/strong>. Bar\u00e7a\u2019s 0-3 victory at Son Moix the day after the event capped off a very special August weekend for all the Balearic Islands supporters<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n
