This year, the supporters\u2019 club chose to <strong>recognize young athletes C\u00e8lia Bernad\u00f3, Irene \u00c1lvarez, and Zayra Salcedo<\/strong>, who were <strong>crowned champions at the European Twirling Championship<\/strong> held in Ireland last July.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Beyond their sporting success, the jury especially valued their behavior during the event, highlighting their <strong>solidarity and camaraderie towards other competitors<\/strong>. In addition to symbolic recognition, the awardees received shopping vouchers worth 100 euros to be redeemed at local businesses in Vidreres, <strong>further strengthening ties between PB Vidreres and the town\u2019s economy<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The award is named after footballer <strong>Mart\u00ed Verg\u00e9s, born in Vidreres and a member of FC Barcelona\u2019s first team from 1958 to 1966<\/strong>. It aims to honor <strong>sportsmanship and fair play in any sporting disciplin<\/strong>e, inspired by the player\u2019s character. Verg\u00e9s was never sent off, and according to some accounts, he often insisted that once the referee makes a decision, there\u2019s no point in protesting or confronting it.
