Once again, the Municipal Stadium \u201cEs Pas de Ses Llebres\u201d in Peguera was filled to capacity for the celebration of the 10th \u201cVilla de Peguera\u201d Solidarity Tournament<\/strong>, organised by the Pe\u00f1a Barcelonista Peguera-Calvi\u00e0<\/a><\/strong> and the local club Cade Paguera<\/strong>, with the collaboration of the Federaci\u00f3 de Penyes de les Illes Balears<\/strong> and the Confederaci\u00f3 Mundial de Penyes<\/strong>. In this 10th edition, the 8-a-side football championship last weekend brought together 16 teams of youngsters, with a total participation of around 200 children<\/strong>. The presence of 1st Division clubs<\/strong> such as FC Barcelona, RCD Mallorca, Villarreal CF, Valencia CF and Sevilla FC stood out. There were also numerous Mallorcan teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a total of 36 matches played<\/strong>, the tournament held its group phase on Saturday, while the final phase was decided on Sunday. Villarreal CF were the winners<\/strong> after beating FC Barcelona 2-1 in a thrilling final that thrilled the crowd. The president of the Federaci\u00f3 de Penyes de les Illes Balears, Oscar Escoda<\/strong>, attended the event and joined the president of the PB Peguera-Calvi\u00e0, Sebasti\u00e1n Palmer<\/strong>, and the rest of the members of the organising penya. Also present were Juan Antonio Amengual<\/strong>, mayor of Calvi\u00e0; Javier Tasc\u00f3n<\/strong>, deputy mayor; Juan Pocov\u00ed<\/strong>, president of the Balearic Football Federation; and former players Joan Josep Estella<\/strong> and Pep Lluis Mart\u00ed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As always, the \u201cVilla de Peguera\u201d Tournament had an important solidarity aspect<\/strong>. The PB Peguera-Calvi\u00e0 raised 1,400 euros<\/strong>, which were distributed between the ASDICA<\/a><\/strong> association, which assists people with disabilities in Calvi\u00e0, and the “Mario – My Big Little Hero”<\/a><\/strong> initiative, which raises funds for a child suffering from a rare disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the success of the tournament, the next date that the PB Peguera-Calvi\u00e0 has marked in red is Monday 25th September<\/strong>. On this day, many supporters\u2019 clubs of the Federaci\u00f3 de Balears will hold a meeting with representatives of FC Barcelona on the eve of the Mallorca-Bar\u00e7a match<\/strong> of the 7th round of La Liga.
