As several supporters’ clubs from the United States did at the beginning of March, last weekend the Penya Blaugrana San Diego (FCB World Federation) organized a visit to Barcelona that was full of activities in the blaugrana spirit. Specifically, about 35 members of the Californian supporters’ club traveled to Barcelona, led by the club’s president, Rubén Aguilera.
An agenda full of activities
The delegation of the PB San Diego landed in Barcelona last Friday, and already used the afternoon hours to go to the Spotify Camp Nou. There, in addition to making a first visit to the Barça Store, most of the visitors fulfilled their dream of registering as Club members of FC Barcelona.
The next day, the supporters’ club members returned to the stadium in the morning to take a tour of the facilities and the museum. In the early afternoon, the PB San Diego went on a catamaran trip that allowed them to enjoy Barcelona from the sea. Then came one of the most special moments of the trip with the visit of the father of the first team player Pedri, Fernando Gonzalez, who is also president of the PB Tenerife and vice president of the Federacion de Canarias.
Conference and dinner at the Confederation
Thanks to the management of the FCB World Federation, the members of the PB San Diego were received that same day at the headquarters of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes. There, they first attended a talk on the history of FC Barcelona and the supporters’ clubs movement, given by Vicenç Notari, treasurer of the Confederació. Afterwards, they celebrated a brotherhood dinner at a nearby venue.
The president of the Confederation, Antoni Guil, was also present at these activities. Also present were the presidents of PB Roma, Maxi Morgante, and PB Lombarda, Pietro Locatelli, who did not want to miss this special visit, as well as the treasurer of the FCB World Federation, Josep Antoni Martin, who accompanied the American members throughout the weekend.
On Sunday, the PB San Diego completed their stay with a reception by FC Barcelona and attendance at the match against Atlético de Madrid, where the supporters were able to celebrate live a vital victory for La Liga title. It was the best possible cherry on top of an unforgettable weekend.
