The Penya Barcelonista Premià de Dalt-Sant Jaume (Federació de Penyes del Maresme) was thrilled during the last month with its Children’s Futsal Tournament, which this year reached its 19th edition. Last weekend, the exciting finals of the four categories of the competition (U8, U10, U12 and U14) were disputed and later the trophies and medals were awarded to the winners and best players. This year, the 1st Marcos Jover Memorial trophy was awarded to the champions of the pre-benjamin category. A total of 220 players participated in the tournament, divided into 22 teams.
Very positive balance
This final day was attended by members of the board of directors of the PB Premià de Dalt-Sant Jaume, led by its president, David Villanueva, as well as Ramon Pruna, president of the Federació de Penyes del Maresme and delegate of the Consultative Council of Penyes in this territory. Representing FC Barcelona were Antonio Escudero, vice-president of the Social Area, and Alberto Manga, former Barça player and member of the Agrupació Barça Jugadors. The Confederació Mundial de Penyes also collaborated with the event by providing blaugrana gifts to the organizing supporters’ club.
The PB Premià de Dalt-Sant Jaume has closed this 19th edition of its Children’s Futsal Tournament with a very positive assessment. The initiative has become an unmissable event for the youngest of the town and its surroundings, and maintains a spirit that makes it more than just a futsal tournament. With it, the PB Premià de Dalt-Sant Jaume seeks to instill and promote sportsmanship, coexistence and sporting values among children. The longevity of the tournament demonstrates its great success; next year, it will celebrate its 20th edition.
