The beautiful relationship between PB Monteagudo and player Jesús Areso

The Osasuna right-back visited the azulgrana exhibition of the president of the Navarrese penya, with whom he maintains a good friendship

The match between Osasuna and Barça played at the end of September in Pamplona brought to light a curious connection between the two teams. It is the link that exists between the player Jesús Areso and the president of the Peña Barcelonista de Monteagudo (Federación de Peñas de Aragón, Navarra y la Rioja), Fernando Serrano. The player is a native of Cascante, a town very close to Monteagudo, and travels regularly in the taxi driven by Serrano. This has forged a nice relationship of friendship between the two of them.

The president of PB Monteagudo has also been a fervent Barça collector for almost 40 years, and from time to time he organises an exhibition in which he displays his personal share of FC Barcelona history in the form of shirts, scarves, boots and many other objects. Coinciding with the match between Osasuna and Barça, Fernando Serrano set up the exhibition with all his Barça memorabilia, and decided to include a section dedicated to Jesús Areso and also to his brother Javier, who plays for SD Tarazona in 1st RFEF. In appreciation, both players visited the exhibition and showed their gratitude to the president of the PB Monteagudo. They also signed some pieces related to them.

This relationship between Fernando Serrano and the Areso family shows the union that football can generate, no matter what club or colours each one defends. This harmony is one of the values that the Confederació Mundial de Penyes del FC Barcelona has always promoted, as well as Aficiones Unidas, an organisation to which it belongs along with 33 other federations of supporters’ clubs in Spanish football.
