As promoted by the Confederació Mundial de Penyes and its territorial federations, the promotion of sport, and football in particular, continues to be a common practice of the penyes movement as another way of building community and Barça passion. Recently, there have been three examples in different parts of the world, with a different approach, but always with fair play and inclusion as common elements.
The Penya Blaugrana de Cervelló (Federació Vallès) organized its 2nd Stars Tournament, an inclusive football championship. A total of 12 Genuine teams from nine clubs from different parts of Catalonia, such as Lleida, Reus or Igualada, participated. Among them, there was also the Genuine team of Penya Barcelonista de Sant Vicenç dels Horts. All together they starred in a very special football day at the Camp Municipal de Cervelló, where respect and fun prevailed over results and final winners.
2nd Tournament of the PB Blaugranor
In France, the Penya Blaugranor Hauts de France (FCB World Federation) also wanted to contribute to the promotion of sport, in this case among the youngest, with a 3×3 Football Tournament for boys and girls aged 6 and 7. It was held at the Deschauwer Pavilion in Carvin, where the young players enjoyed a morning of football with a great atmosphere and where medals and blaugrana gifts were handed out to all the participants. This is the second edition of this initiative by Penya Blaugranor, which aims to continue promoting the healthy practice of football among local children.
Prizes of the “Vueltas Blaugrana” Tournament
On the other side of the Atlantic, specifically on the island of Cuba, the Penya Vueltas Blaugrana (FCB World Federation) held the prize-giving ceremony for the ‘Vueltas Blaugrana’ Tournament, a football league that the supporters’ club organises every year in their town. It is a competition in which teams made up of members of the penya, but also other members of the Cuban community of San Antonio de las Vueltas, take part. In this way, the penyaa seeks to include people with few resources and to strengthen ties through football, spreading the values that define Barça passion.
