Once again, the Confederació Mundial de Penyes del FC Barcelona, through its CSR Subcommittee, joins World Blood Donor Day, celebrated every June 14. In doing so, the blaugrana organization takes part in this important day, which both highlights the importance of donating blood throughout the year and pays special tribute to all the donors who contribute to this cause. This commitment to blood donation has long been one of the pillars of the solidarity work of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, its federations, and its individual penyes, always in collaboration with local authorities such as Blood and Tissue Banks.
Donation drives at several penyes
Throughout the year, several penyes organize blood donation drives and encourage participation from both their members and the general public in their communities. Notably, the Federació de Lleida Sud i La Franja maintains a partnership with the Segrià Donors Association, resulting in blood donation events at many clubs in the region. On the other hand, the PB Ripollet (Fed. Vallès) organizes donations every month, promoted by its president Joan Giménez. Similarly, the PB Solsona i Comarca (Fed. Ponent Nord) organizes a summer blood donation campaign in its town, and recently, the PB Contestana (Fed. Comarques d’Alacant) held its second successful donation drive with great participation.
The Confederació extends its gratitude to all supporters, members, and Barça fans who contribute each year by donating blood and encourages all clubs to join this vital cause for everyone’s health.
