Last Saturday, the Pas de ses Llebres Municipal Field in Peguera hosted a day filled with sport, emotion, and solidarity, as part of the Patron Saint Festivities of Peguera and Cala Fornells. One of the key contributors to this day was the Penya Barcelonista Peguera-Calvià (Federació de Penyes de les Illes Balears), which once again demonstrated its commitment to the local community, especially to young people and grassroots football.
First, the 5th edition of the PB Peguera-Calvià Penalty Battle was held with great success. This eagerly awaited sporting event brought together 24 teams in the U9, U11, and U13 categories. A total of 72 boys and girls took part in the competition, enjoying an afternoon full of goals, laughter, and camaraderie, in an exceptional atmosphere with families, friends, and neighbors in attendance. The event was graced by the presence of Sebastián Palmer, president of PB Peguera-Calvià; Benito Ferrer, local councilor for Peguera; and Rafa León, head of Sports and Tourism at Calvià365. All expressed their enthusiasm for an initiative that has become a local tradition.

The 1st Stars Cup: a solidarity success
Later that day, the same venue hosted the 1st Stars Cup for U11 players, organized by Mallorca Soccer Experience. This initiative, which was held in collaboration with PB Peguera-Calvià, was created in tribute to former player Javier Dorado, who had strong ties to the island of Mallorca and its grassroots football, and who passed away last year. The Cup brought together 4 teams, 4 coaches, and 45 young football talents in a true celebration of youth sport, with a vibrant atmosphere in the stands and plenty of excitement on the pitch.
Beyond the competition, the 1st Stars Cup also had a charitable goal: to support Mario, a 10-year-old boy suffering from a rare and incurable disease. Thanks to the generosity of attendees and participants, a total of €717 was raised to support his family and contribute to research into the condition. This same cause is supported by PB Peguera-Calvià through its well-established Villa de Peguera Solidarity Tournament, whose 12th edition will take place in mid-September.
