The PB San Diego raises over $4,300 for breast cancer awareness

The Californian supporters’ club once again took part in the “More Than Pink” walk organized by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, to which they donated the funds raised.

The Penya Blaugrana de San Diego (FCB World Federation) once again showed its strong commitment to the fight against breast cancer by participating in a new edition of the “More Than Pink” Walk. This initiative, organized by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, aims to raise awareness about the fight against breast cancer and to collect funds for research, community health programs, and support for those affected. The PB San Diego, which joined the walk with several members and had its own booth, donated over $4,300 to this charitable cause.

The Californian supporters’ club began fundraising in the summer through merchandise sales and support from local businesses, among other efforts. On October 25, during the viewing of El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barça, the penya organized a charity raffle for its members, with attractive prizes donated by the members themselves and the PB San Diego board. Even WWE wrestler Rey Mysterio contributed a signed mask. Thanks to the strong participation and additional online donations, the final amount raised exceeded the penya’s expectations.

Ongoing commitment

The PB San Diego’s involvement with the Susan G. Komen Foundation has grown stronger in recent years. It has become customary for the penya to organize charitable activities during El Clásico viewings each season, which tend to attract more attendees, as well as to participate in various foundation events. Last year, the penya raised nearly $4,500 at the start of the season and also took part in the “More Than Pink” Walk. For all these efforts, the Susan G. Komen Foundation expressed its gratitude to the PB San Diego president Rubén Aguilera and all the penya members.
