The PB Esparreguera and the PB Gavanenca celebrate their 50th anniversary

The two penyes of the Federació Baix Llobregat commemorated half a century of Barça passion with respective celebrations full of emotion and culé spirit

The Federació Baix Llobregat de Penyes Barcelonistes del FC Barcelona experienced a very special weekend with the coincidence of the 50th anniversary of two of its entities: the Penya Barcelonista d’Esparreguera and the Penya Barcelonista Blaugrana Gavanenca. Both celebrations were full of blaugrana unity and paid tribute to two supporters’ clubs that have proudly reached half a century of history.

Talk and big party in Esparreguera

The first to celebrate its 50th anniversary was PB Esparreguera, which on Friday enjoyed a day full of emotion and festive spirit. The event began with a discussion on FC Barcelona’s current affairs featuring journalists Laura Aparicio and Joan Poquí, along with former Barça players Josep Moratalla and Paco Martínez. Topics included the team’s current situation, Messi’s appearance at Camp Nou, the role of La Masia, and even the offside tactic. Moreover, Moratalla presence, being born in Esparreguera, brought attendees back to Maradona’s Barça of the 1980s.

Afterwards, the big party for the 50th anniversary of PB Esparreguera took place, attended by around a hundred people. In addition to the speakers mentioned above, the event featured Antoni Escudero, FC Barcelona’s social vice president; Jordi Murillo, president of the Federació Baix Llobregat; Joan Vendrell, president of PB Esparreguera; and Juan Jurado, mayor of Esparreguera. Pep Segura, former director of Barça’s football area, was also present. A particularly emotional tribute was paid to three of PB Esparreguera’s founders from 1975. The event was supported by the Confederació Mundial de Penyes.

PB Gavanenca also celebrates half a century

Two days after the Esparreguera celebration, it was PB Gavanenca’s turn, commemorating its 50th anniversary by gathering around a hundred members in Gavà. The event was attended by Jordi Murillo, president of the Federació Baix Llobregat; Jordi Garcia, president of PB Gavanenca; Josep Ignasi Macià, member of the Club’s board; Antonio Olmo, member of the Barça Players Association; and Gemma Badia, mayor of Gavà. During the celebration, a heartfelt tribute was paid to PB Gavanenca’s oldest member, Josep Boix. There was also the traditional cutting of the commemorative cake and speeches from the main figures. The Confederació Mundial de Penyes also collaborated in this event, which left a very good impression on all attendees.
