Inclusive football celebration at the 3rd Stars Tournament of PB Cervelló

The event, which was held in collaboration with PB Sant Vicenç dels Horts and the AGESVIH Association, brought together 17 Genuine teams and a total of 250 players

Last Saturday, February 14, the Penya Blaugrana de Cervelló (Federació de Penyes Baix Llobregat) held the 3rd edition of the Stars Tournament. The event, which was organized with the collaboration of the Penya Barcelonista Sant Vicenç dels Horts, the AGESVIH Association and Barcelona Cup Events, gathered 17 Genuine teams at the Cervelló Municipal Field throughout the morning. The participating clubs were FC Barcelona, PB Sant Vicenç dels Horts, CE Hospitalet, Base Marc Bartra, Fundación Reus, Can Buxeres, Insercor, Magic Dream Anoia, Can Mir and Invencibles. In total, nearly 250 players of different ages took part in this celebration of inclusive football.

A tournament where winning is not the most important thing

The 3rd Stars Tournament was divided into three categories (red, blue and green) and took place in an atmosphere where fair play, respect, teamwork and the enjoyment of all players prevailed over the final score. For this reason, regardless of the top-ranked teams, the tournament organizers awarded prizes to all teams and to each one of the players. In addition, PB Cervelló provided refreshments to all participants during the matches, as well as a meal once the tournament concluded.

The event was attended by Andrés Castillo, president of PB Cervelló; Carlos Bucheras, president of PB Sant Vicenç dels Horts and the AGESVIH Association; Montse Canas, mayor of Cervelló; Miguel Comino, mayor of Sant Vicenç dels Horts; members of the Catalan Parliament José Ignacio Aparicio and Guillem Mateu; and several councilors from the municipalities of Cervelló and Sant Vicenç dels Horts, both collaborators of the event. All of them took part in the awards ceremony and praised the excellent organization of the tournament.

Commitment to inclusive football

This 3rd edition of the Stars Tournament once again highlighted theimportant work carried out in favor of inclusive football by PB Cervelló, PB Sant Vicenç dels Horts and the Genuine Association of Sant Vicenç dels Horts (AGESVIH). Throughout the year, other tournaments and events are organized to bring together different teams, and PB Sant Vicenç dels Horts itself has three Genuine squads. In addition, these organizations are working to promote other sports for people with functional diversity and are also planning the opening of a social venue where they can gather and offer support to families.
