The PB Nova York throws a big party to celebrate its 25th anniversary

The North American penya gathered 175 people in an event where it raised $4,000 for a charitable cause and received an official proclamation from a council member of its district

The Penya Barcelonista de Nova York has reached 25 years of history, and to celebrate it, they organized a big party at their usual meeting place, Smithfield Hall NYC, located in the heart of Manhattan. The club, which belongs to the FCB World Federation, brought together a total of 175 people including members and guests, in an event that combined a festive atmosphere and blaugrana passion with solidarity and the emotional tone befitting such a special occasion. Barça’s victory against Athletic Club at San Mamés also added to the joy felt throughout the day.

One of the highlights was the charity raffle, through which PB Nova York raised more than $4,000 that will be donated to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation, a type of cancer affecting a relative of one of the penya’s members. The strong involvement of all members made it possible to reach this significant amount in the raffle, whose main prize was a Barça jersey signed by the first team. Additionally, a video was shown featuring congratulations from former PB Nova York presidents, and also presidents of other North American penyes.

Official Proclamation

One of the most emotional moments of this 25th-anniversary celebration by the PB Nova York was the presentation of the Official Proclamation by District 21 of the city. The president of the penya, Jordi Getman Eraso, received the distinction from Francisco P. Moya, council member of this New York district. This proclamation means that the penya receives recognition from the city of New York, not only for supporting FC Barcelona but also for building community, supporting youth, and contributing positively to the city life in general.

The official proclamation states that PB Nova York supports youth development and soccer programs, and also collaborates with local clubs such as Manhattan Kickers FC. It also highlights the collaboration with organizations like South Bronx United, acting as mentors for young people. This Official Proclamation was received with great pride by PB Nova York, along with the determination to continue carrying out this social work, upholding values such as respect, solidarity, and a strong community spirit.
