Assembly of the Federación de Peñas Extremeñas

It took place in Puebla de Sancho Pérez, as part of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the PB El Zorro Culé

Last Saturday, the town of Puebla de Sancho Pérez (Badajoz) became the focal point of blaugrana passion in Extremadura on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the local entity, the Peña Barcelonista El Zorro Culé. It was an emotional and festive day with the participation of the Federación de Peñas Barcelonistas Extremeñas, which held its first regular meeting this year, headed by its president Miguel Angel Cruz.

With more than 30 penyes from this territory represented, the assembly took stock of the past year 2024, with a management report and approval of accounts, and also dealt with various current issues related to FC Barcelona. The trips organized by the Federación de Peñas Extremeñas were explained, such as the recent ones to Lisbon, and the discomfort of the penyes with the Club’s ticket distribution system was also discussed. On the other hand, it was announced that a new assembly will take place in October, which will include the elections for the presidency of the federation, while in March 2026 the Meeting of Penyes of Extremadura is scheduled to take place in Almendralejo.

Intense agenda for the 15th anniversary

The celebration of the 15th anniversary of the PB El Zorro Culé continued with an official reception at the Town Hall of Puebla de Sancho Pérez, headed by the mayoress María de la Luz Castilla. Present were the aforementioned Miguel Angel Cruz; the president of the PB El Zorro Culé, Inmaculada Cubillo; the member of the FC Barcelona Social Commission, Rafael Pichardo; and former Barça player Antonio Olmo. All of them signed the book of honour of the City Hall.

Afterwards, the attendees went to the PB El Zorro Culé social club to celebrate its official inauguration, which included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque. Finally, a gala dinner was held, attended by more than 150 people. At the dinner, the PB El Zorro Culé paid tribute to its first president, Manuel León, and exchanged gifts with the different entities present. It was the closing of an intense day that showed the strength of the blaugrana passion in Extremadura.
