Fan Club Barça Polska (FCB World Federation) once again brought the blaugrana colours to the top in the 2nd Post–Valentine’s Penyes Tournament held in the Polish city of Lodz. The football competition, promoted by the Polish Borussia Dortmund supporters’ club, gathered a total of 11 teams representing penyes of different clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Milan, Real Madrid, or West Ham, and was played at the Sawo Gruz Arena over a full day. After having already won the first edition of the tournament a year ago, the Fan Club Barça Polska team brilliantly retained its champion title.
A perfect competition
The Barça supporters’ team not only won the competition but did so in emphatic fashion, winning every match they played. In the group stage, they defeated the supporters of West Ham (2-0), Milan (6-0), Real Madrid (2-1), and two Arsenal groups (3-0 and 4-0). In the final phase, they beat another “gunner” supporters’ team (3-2) and again West Ham (3-1) and Milan (3-0). The blaugrana dominance was absolute from start to finish, with a total of 26 goals scored and only 4 conceded.
Given these results, it’s no surprise that, in addition to the champions’ trophy, all individual awards of the 2nd Post–Valentine’s Penyes Tournament went to members of Fan Club Barça Polska. Best player, top scorer, and best goalkeeper all wore the blaugrana colours. The penya celebrated this great achievement and showed the strong sense of community among Polish culers. Next year, they hope to become three-time champions.
