The 9th Meeting of Barça Penyes of Baix Llobregat brought a blaugrana atmosphere to the town of Molins de Rei last Friday, October 3rd. Nearly a hundred Barça fans from the region attended the event, which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the local supporters’ club, the Penya Blaugrana Josep Raich de Molins de Rei. The penya organized the gathering together with the Federació de Penyes del Baix Llobregat . In total, 15 supporters’ clubs from the federation participated in this major celebration of Barça passion.
The event was attended by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, along with other board members, as well as the president of the FC Barcelona Players’ Association, Juan Manuel Asensi. Representing the Federació Baix Llobregat was its president, Jordi Murillo. They were all welcomed by the president of PB Josep Raich, Joan Arús, and the mayor of Molins de Rei, Xavier Paz.
Colloquium and gala celebration
The 9th Meeting of Penyes of Baix Llobregat began with an event in the Gothic Hall of the Renaissance Museum of Molins de Rei, where a colloquium titled “Barça: Past and Present” was held. Moderated by journalist Joan Poquí, the panel included fellow journalist Laia Coll, publicist Lluís Carrasco, and Pere Raich, son of former player Josep Raich, after whom the host penya is named. They discussed various aspects of current Barça affairs. This was followed by a performance by the choir “Les veus del dilluns” and speeches by Joan Laporta and Xavier Paz.
The celebration then moved to a restaurant in Molins de Rei, where the hundred Barça fans joined PB Josep Raich in celebrating the penya’s half-century of history. In addition to speeches and the cake-cutting ceremony, gifts were handed out to the attending supporters’ clubs, marking this special day for the penyes movement in Baix Llobregat. The Federation is already preparing upcoming events for the final quarter of 2025.
