The XX Meeting of Penyes Barcelonistes de Jaén and its Province took place last weekend in the town of Torredonjimeno, organised by the PB Tosiria and the Federación de Peñas de la Provincia de Jaén, and with the collaboration of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes. On Saturday, the youngest players took centre stage with several children’s football, futsal and basketball clinics. In the evening, the attendees were able to watch the Clásico at the headquarters of the PB Tosiria of Torredonjimeno, host of the meeting, in a screening that included, among others, former players Ramon Maria Calderé and Roger Esteller. The venue turned into a party after Hansi Flick’s team’s big win at the Bernabéu.
On Sunday, still in the euphoria of the victory over Real Madrid, the meeting began with a cultural visit to Torredonjimeno, followed by a talk and discussion. In addition to Calderé and Esteller, other participants included Francisco Arco, president of the Federación Provincial de Peñas de Jaén; José Adame, president of the Federación de Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla; Diego Peral, secretary of this Federation; Tomas Martínez, advisor and former president of the Federation; Juan Carlos Pamos and Jesús Anguita, president and vice-president of PB Tosiria; former player ‘Boquerón’ Esteban; Rafael Pichardo, member of the Club’s Social Commission; and José García, member of the Advisory Council.
Afterwards, the blaugrana delegation, led by vice-president Antonio Escudero, was received at the Town Hall by the mayor of Torredonjimeno, Enrique Castro, together with other local representatives. The XX Meeting of Penyes of Jaén and Province culminated with a final party that brought together 330 supporters representing 23 penyes from this region. There were gifts for all the participants, who were invited to continue making passion of FC Barcelona in their homeland.
