The Penya Barcelonista l’Avenç d’Esplugues de Llobregat hosted last Sunday the VIII Meeting of Penyes of Baix Llobregat and, in turn, commemorated the 40th anniversary of the creation of the penya. The celebration included a series of events held throughout the morning in their town, which culminated in a great final party to close a day of authentic blaugrana passion. The Federació de Penyes del Baix Llobregat collaborated in the organisation of the event.
The day began with a guided tour through the most emblematic areas of the town of Esplugues and a reception at the headquarters of the PB L’Avenç, with an exhibition of the photo contest. Tano Faura, president of the penya, and its board of directors hosted the event. The PB L’Avenç is one of the outstanding entities of Esplugues de Llobregat, and throughout these four decades has been distinguished by the organization of numerous social and cultural events.

The final party was attended by Vicenç Notari, president of the Federació de Penyes del Baix Llobregat; Jordi Murillo, delegate of Baix Llobregat in the Consell Consultiu; Jordi Pueyo, member of the Social Commission of FC Barcelona; the former blaugrana player Pepito Ramos; and the former president and founding member of the PB L’Avenç, Jordi Claramunt. In total, there were some 120 supporters representing 13 penyes from the Fed. Baix Llobregat, as well as members of other entities such as PB Foment Martinenc (Federació Barcelonès Est), PB Les Corts (Federació Barcelonès Oest) or PB La Granada (Federació Anoia, Alt Penedès i Garraf).
Also participated in the VIII Meeting of Penyes of Baix Llobregat figures of the Barça environment as the economist Marc Ciria or journalists Antoni Closa and Joan Poquí. he representation of the Club and the different penyes, as well as all the guests to the meeting, exchanged gifts and souvenirs of the day with the host penya. Presiding over the party were the trophies of the League, Cup and Champions League, provided by the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, with which members who wished could have their photograph taken to immortalise the moment.
