Over 1,400 members of penyes celebrated a historic comeback in Lisbon

The penyes of the Federación de Extremadura led a massive displacement that included supporters from all over Europe.

Once again, the penyes movement showed its commitment to Hansi Flick’s team on European trips; this time in Portugal. Of the 2,000 fans who traveled to Lisbon to attend the Benfica-Barça match, more than 1,400 were members of penyes, representing entities from all over the world. This time, it is worth mentioning the mobilization from Extremadura, where the Federación de Peñas Extremeñas organized nine buses and brought nearly 600 FC Barcelona fans. There was also a large presence of penyes from the Federación de Castilla y León and the Federación de Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla, which added another 300 supporters. Also noteworthy were the supporters’ clubs of the FCB World Federation, with the Polish entities in the lead, and obviously the members of the host Penya Barcelonista de Lisboa.

The supporters, members and fans present in Lisbon shared a pre-match meeting in a central square of the Portuguese capital. There was also a fraternal meal organized by the PB Lisboa, with the presence of representatives of the Club. On the afternoon, all the supporters travelled to the Da Luz Stadium, where they pushed the team to the last breath to achieve a historic comeback (4-5). This massive trip confirms the enormous mobilization of the penyes to support the team wherever it plays, and is only surpassed by the over 3,200 supporters who traveled to Dortmund last December. With the 1/8 finals in sight, the supporters’ clubs will be on the lookout for a new destination to cheer on the blaugrana team in this exciting edition of the Champions League.
