Two African FC Barcelona supporters’ clubs belonging to the FCB World Federation have recently held their assemblies. These are the Penya Blaugrana Abidjan, from Côte d’Ivoire, and the Penya Barcelone Lubumbashi, from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In both cases, they brought their members together to define and plan their projects for the year 2026, which is about to begin. Their goal: to continue spreading and strengthening Barça sentiment in their respective countries.

New board of directors at PB Abidjan

Last Saturday, December 20, the Extraordinary General Assembly of PB Abidjan took place in their hometown. The meeting served to officially relaunch the Ivorian penya, which presented its new board of directors for this new phase. During the gathering, they discussed the action plan and projects for PB Abidjan for the upcoming year 2026, as well as the conditions and benefits for all members of the Barça organization.

The penya also announced a new campaign starting next week to attract more Barça fans in Côte d’Ivoire and increase their official membership. PB Abidjan already has around 400 people who have expressed interest in joining and is working with the ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 members by the end of 2026. The Extraordinary General Assembly concluded with a fellowship lunch in a Barça-filled atmosphere of excitement for this new stage.

PB Lubumbashi aims to keep building community

One week earlier, on Sunday, December 14, PB Lubumbashi also organized a meeting with its members to prepare for the coming year. Among the topics discussed were community-focused actions such as offering awards and benefits to students at the Ruashi school, as well as planning a major event to celebrate the sponsorship agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and FC Barcelona.

In addition, trips to Barcelona were also planned for members of the penya. One of the key dates is the weekend of 9-10 May, when the penya intends to attend the Clásico between Barça and Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou. Furthermore, the meeting also included agreements regarding the purchase of Barça merchandise, both in person in Barcelona and through the online store. Altogether, PB Lubumbashi reinforces its commitment to spreading Barça passion and values in its country.
