PB Bou celebrates its 34th anniversary with a new futsal tournament

The competition, now in its 28th edition, once again featured a team made up of members from the Young Migrants project of Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona

The Penya Barcelonista Bou (Federació de Penyes del Barcelonès Oest) celebrated the 34th anniversary of its founding by organizing the 28th edition of its traditional Futsal Tournament. The event took place at the sports facilities of the University of Barcelona, at the city’s entrance, and brought together a total of six teams, made up of players of all ages and with strong representation from PB Bou members across the participating squads. The team Maximum Attack claimed the final victory, marking their third time winning the competition. The penya also had the La Liga trophy on display during the tournament and concluded the 34th anniversary celebration with a fellowship dinner.

Collaboration with Cáritas’ Young Migrants Program

Once again, the 28th PB Bou Futsal Tournament featured the participation of the team “Joves d’Àfrica” (Youth from Africa), composed of members from the Young Migrants project of Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona. This collaboration, ongoing for several years, stems from the work of PB Bou member David Vázquez with Cáritas Barcelona, where he supports unaccompanied young migrants. In this edition of the tournament, the “Joves d’Àfrica” team finished in fourth place.

This connection with the Young Migrants project of Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona is also evident in other PB Bou initiatives. For example, during the Christmas visit to the Palau Blaugrana that the penya usually organizes, some young migrants have participated. In this way, the blaugrana entity, led by Sergi Esteban, aims to contribute to the integration of these young people who are at risk of social exclusion.
