PB Formentera begins its reactivation

The supporters’ club of the Federació de les Illes Balears has held an extraordinary general assembly to initiate an electoral process and open a new stage of activity

The Penya Barcelonista de Formentera, which belongs to the Federació de Penyes de les Illes Balears, held an extraordinary general assembly this Tuesday, March 31, at the Blue Bar in Sant Ferran de ses Roques. The meeting, which brought together around 40 members of the supporters’ club, was the first step toward carrying out the reactivation of the Balearic organization, which is seeking a new boost after years marked by the effects of the pandemic. During the assembly, the current board of directors, chaired by Xavier Guasch, resigned, and an electoral process was launched to determine the new board.

In this way, PB Formentera is aiming for a generational shift that will bring renewed ideas and revive an organization that has historically been a meeting point for Barça supporters on the island of Formentera. Moreover, the strong presence of German supporters currently gives the penya a special connection with Hansi Flick’s Barça, to whom they send their full support. Today, PB Formentera has around 220 members, a notable figure for an association on such a small island. The supporters’ club was founded on October 8, 1986, and is therefore close to celebrating its 40th anniversary.
