The Penya Blaugrana de Parets del Vallès commemorated its 45th anniversary by organizing several events in its hometown. For this celebration, the supporters’ club of the Federació Vallès combined a festive and Barça-spirited atmosphere with a deep sense of remembrance for its former president Joaquim Esteve, who passed away last April. It was three days full of tributes and emotions, culminating in a final celebration attended by nearly 120 people.
Panel discussion with journalists from the Barça community
The 45th anniversary celebrations of PB Parets kicked off last Thursday with a sports panel discussion that brought together more than 100 people at the penya’s headquarters. Journalists Joan Poquí, Marta Ramón, Francesc Latorre, Carles Font, and Mireia Germán (moderator) took part in the event. They discussed the current affairs of FC Barcelona, covering topics such as La Masia and the role of the club’s different sections, and also answered questions from the audience. Present at the event were Joan Viñas, president of PB Parets del Vallès, and Francesc Juzgado, mayor of the town.
On Saturday, the PB Parets del Vallès held a memorial mass at the parish church of Sant Esteve in honor of the penya members who have passed away in recent months. Joaquim Esteve’s memory was especially significant during this event, as he had served as president of the penya since 2009 and had many other social and administrative ties to the municipality of Parets del Vallès.

Sunday’s events began with the Josep Seguer Memorial, through which PB Parets pays tribute to the legendary Barça player from the 1940s and 1950s, who was born in Parets del Vallès. This year, the event featured a football match between the top cadet teams of CF Parets and CE Sabadell. Silvia Monter, widow of Josep Seguer, performed the honorary kickoff, and was joined by her son Josep and nephew Joan.
The 45th anniversary of PB Parets concluded with a grand celebration attended by nearly 120 people. Notable guests included Antoni Guil, president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes; Elena Fort, institutional vicepresident of FC Barcelona; Pere Valentí Mora, vicepresident of the Agrupació Barça Jugadros; Francesc Juzgado, mayor of Parets del Vallès; and O’Hara Valdivia, housing councilor of the Vallès Oriental Regional Council. Also present were PB Sant Cugat, PB Caldes de Montbui, PB Montmeló, and PB Mollet del Vallès.
The event featured another tribute to Joaquim Esteve, along with the usual speeches and exchange of gifts. Additionally, the penya held a raffle of Barça merchandise and tickets among all attendees. It was the perfect conclusion to several days filled with emotions, memories, and Barça spirit.
