The pre-season tour matches have finally kicked off, and the penyes have been able to enjoy their idols up close. In the first event, on the occasion of the Barça-Arsenal match played in Los Angeles, the main protagonists were the host, the Penya Blaugrana Los Angeles, and also the Penya Blaugrana San Diego, which brought a large representation of its members. Both are part of the FCB World Federation, which, as always, has given its support to the mobilization.
The blaugrana party started a couple of hours before the start of the match with the so-called “Tailgate”: the traditional pre-game meeting that the Americans hold in the parking lots of the stadiums. There, members of the Penya Blaugrana Los Angeles welcomed numerous culers who wanted to share with them the moments before the match and show their blaugrana passion. Among others, the members of the Penya Blaugrana San Diego, who did not want to miss the opportunity to see Xavi Hernandez’s team live near their home. The chants and the blaugrana emblems have turned this area of the SoFi Stadium parking lot into an authentic Barça core.
When it was time for the match, the party moved to the stands of the stadium, which saw one of its goals dyed in blaugrana. In addition to the aforementioned PB Los Angeles and PB San Diego, supporters from other organizations such as the Penya Barcelonista Washington DC and Penya Familia Blaugrana de Panamá, as well as thousands of North American culers joined in. Beyond the result, all the fans enjoyed a very special day.
Next stop: Dallas
In three days, the Californian supporters’ clubs will pass the baton to the penyes of Texas. And they will do so on the occasion of the highlight of this pre-season tour: the Clásico between Barça and Real Madrid. It will be in the city of Dallas, where Penya Blaugrana Houston Culés, Penya Barça Austin and Penya Barça Dallas are already warming up their engines. First, they will celebrate a “Penya Party” on the eve of the match, with the presence of representatives of the Club and several activities such as raffles of blaugrana products. The following day, they will fill the stands at AT&T Stadium to cheer on the team.
