Penyes play a leading role in the away games of all Barça teams

The wide presence of penyes across the territory ensures that all Barça teams and youth squads receive support in the stands wherever they play.

One of the characteristics that defines the Barça penyes movement is that their loyalty to the colours goes far beyond the men’s first football team, and the beginning of this year is proving it in a remarkable way. Attendance at the Johan Cruyff Stadium and the Palau Blaugrana has consolidated, but what stands out most is the mobilisation of penyes whenever a Barça team travels to their region to play a tournament or an away match. Even the youth squads of other sections and amateur teams know they can rely on the penyes’ encouragement, no matter where they go.

Receptions for the basketball team

The double away trip of the first basketball team this weekend saw the penyes take centre stage. In Madrid, before the EuroLeague Clásico, several entities from the Federación de Peñas Barcelonistas de Madrid – such as PB Móstoles, PB Centre Català de Madrid, PB Valdemoro, PB Torrejón de Ardoz and PB Santorcaz held a reception with the players and staff. Some of them also supported the team live at the Movistar Arena.

Two days later, PB Tierras del Cid and PB Burgalesa (Fed. Castilla y León) took advantage of the section’s visit to Burgos to show their support for Xavi Pascual’s players. The supporters were also present at the Coliseum Burgos to celebrate the Barça victory. In European matches, the basketball team has also received support from PB Paris, PB Bayerischer and others when visiting their cities.

Unconditional penyes

Among all the penyes that back the various Barça teams, some stand out for their unconditional loyalty. One of them is PB Cabanyal-Ciutat Jardí (Fed. València i Marina Alta), which this weekend supported Barça Atlètic futsal in their match at the Paterna Municipal Pavilion against Levante FS. This season, the Valencian supporters have also cheered the first basketball and futsal teams during their visits to Valencia, Alzira, and Peñíscola.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned PB Móstoles also guarantees a strong Barça presence in the stands across multiple sections. Beyond basketball, they have recently supported the women’s football B team in Alcalá de Henares, the roller hockey team in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, and the women’s volleyball B team in Las Palmas. In the latter two cases, support came from the Canary Islands branch of the penya, which joins forces with PB Front 532 (Fed. Barcelonès Oest) to follow all Barça teams visiting the archipelago. The young talents from La Masia participating in La Liga FC Futures also enjoyed their support at the end of 2025.
