The Penya Barcelonista de Breda (Federació Gironès, La Selva, Garrotxa i Pla de l’Estany) experienced a very special evening to mark its 50th anniversary. The event featured a prominent institutional representation from FC Barcelona, led by Vice President Antonio Escudero, along with Xavier Barbany, board member of the hockey section; Juan Manuel Asensi, president of the Barça Players’ Association; and Gaby Cairo, head of Amateur Sports and sports coordinator for hockey. Also in attendance were Quim Vall-llosera, president of the Federació de Penyes del Gironès, La Selva, Garrotxa i Pla de l’Estany; Josep Oliva, delegate of the FC Barcelona Penyes Advisory Council in the region; and Marc Pujol, president of PB Breda.
Commemorative plaque and gala dinner
The day began with an official reception at the PB Breda headquarters, where a commemorative plaque was unveiled to symbolize half a century of loyalty to the blaugrana colors. In this space, supporters and Barça representatives shared conversations and memories in a warm and festive atmosphere. Afterwards, the gala dinner brought together nearly 200 people, including members of the host penya and representatives from 14 friendly penyes who didn’t want to miss this special day for PB Breda.
The host penya’s president, Marc Pujol, opened the speeches with an emotional welcome address. He was followed by Josep Oliva, Juan Manuel Asensi, and the mayor of Breda, Dídac Manresa. Finally, Antonio Escudero concluded the speeches with words of recognition for PB Breda’s long-standing history. During the celebration, various commemorative gifts were handed out, strengthening the bond between all participating entities. The event was a reflection of the strength and passion that supporters’ clubs bring to the Barça world, and a tribute to all those who have made these 50 years of history possible.
