The 9th Literary Contest of PB Foment Martinenc is now underway

Short stories can be submitted until September 12 for this popular literary initiative organized by the penya of Barcelonès Est, which will award a total of €700 in prizes

The Penya Blaugrana Foment Martinenc (Federació Barcelonès Est) has officially opened the submission phase for short stories in the 9th edition of its Literary Contest. Once again, the Barça supporters’ club invites all members, fans, and culers to showcase their storytelling skills through a text that includes references to FC Barcelona. The story, which must be signed with a pseudonym, can be written in either Catalan or Spanish and must not exceed three pages in length. The deadline for submitting entries is September 12, 2025, and they must be sent via email to pbfm55@gmail.com, with the subject line: “IX Certamen Literari de contes del Barça.”

Once again, PB Foment Martinenc will distribute €700 in prizes: €300 for the best story, €200 for the second place, and €100 for the third. Additionally, there will be a special €100 prize for the best work written by a peñista, provided that it has not won one of the other three prizes. The jury will consist of individuals with literary expertise. The awards ceremony for the winning stories will take place on Saturday, November 15, coinciding with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of PB Foment Martinenc.

A prestigious contest among barça supporters

After eight successful editions, the Literary Contest of PB Foment Martinenc has become a highly popular initiative within the Barça supporters’ community. In addition to numerous clubs from Catalan federations, there have also been participants from the federations of Murcia; Aragón, Navarra and La Rioja; Castilla y León; Extremadura; and Andalucía, Ceuta y Melilla. Over the years, more than twenty different penyes have taken part.

Moreover, the Literary Contest has featured contributions from well-known figures in Barça-related journalism, such as Santi Ovalle, David Salinas, Álex Delmás, Cecilia Martínez, Sique Rodríguez, Albert Llimós, and Esther Fega, among many others. Even a former Barça player, Paco Martínez, participated in one of the editions. PB Foment Martinenc, led by president Àngel Pérez, is once again expecting strong participation in this 9th edition.
