The Confederació Mundial de Penyes, the entity that represents the FC Barcelona penyes movement, is celebrating its 10th anniversary today. Created on 7 March 2015, the organization has since then promoted the evolution and development of the 30 territorial federations and the more than 1,250 supporters’ clubs that are part of it. Thanks to the success of this structure, set out in Article 16 of the FC Barcelona Statutes and with the Penyes Council as a representative and decision-making body, today the FC Barcelona penyes movement is a benchmark for football fans all over the world.
10 years full of emotions
During this decade of existence, the Confederació Mundial de Penyes has shared with the federations and penyes the great successes of the different FC Barcelona teams, supporting them all over the world. Great titles have been celebrated, and, in any case, the teams have been cheered on until the last second with a non-negotiable loyalty. At all times, the Confederació has worked to ensure that this mobilization of penyes remains more alive than ever.
On the other hand, the blaugrana entity has also supported federations, penyes and its members in difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic, where it helped to disseminate and promote solidarity actions all over the world. This spirit of solidarity, embodied in collaborations with the Food Bank, the Blood Bank or the Invulnerables project of Sor Lucía Caram, in addition to the many initiatives by federations and penyes, will continue to be an indisputable value of the whole collective.
At the service of penyes
Through its Commissions (Sociocultural, Institutional and Services, and Economic and Marketing), the Confederació maintains its mission of dynamizing the Federations and penyes, collaborating in the organization of all kinds of events and activities, and responding to their needs and those of their members. Among the many events it organises each year, the most important are the Meetings of Federations in the different territories, as well as those organised by the Confederation itself, such as the Trobada de Penyes de Països Catalans, which has so far been held in Montmeló and Santpedor. The entity also organizes receptions for penyes at its headquarters, located opposite Camp Nou (Arístides Maillol, 15, 1st floor).
Regarding the initiatives promoted by the Confederació to disseminate the history of FC Barcelona and its penyes, the offer has increased with new proposals. In addition to the two parts of the ‘Barça i Catalunya’ talks, the ‘Ambaixades’ conference has been added, focusing on the history of penyes, and the ‘Llegendaris’ event, which gives a voice to great figures who have played a leading role in the Club’s sporting achievements. On the other hand, it continues to promote activities such as sports and paddle tennis tournaments, which bring the youngest supporters closer to the penyes.
In terms of communication, the Confederació Mundial de Penyes continues to intensify the dissemination of all the activity of its federations and penyes on its website, social networks and in the media. In terms of internal communication, since last year it has been sending the PenyesNews newsletter to all its penyes every fortnight.
