Last Saturday, the Confederació Mundial de Penyes held a new Plenary of its Penyes Council with the participation of more than 30 representatives of the different territorial Federations, led by Antoni Guil, president of the Confederació. On this occasion, the meeting counted with the special presence of the Barça members’ platform “Som un Clam”, represented by Joan Camprubí, Georgina Sánchez and Albert Ferrer. The three presented their diagnosis of the current situation of FC Barcelona and detailed their proposals, and also listened to the suggestions and concerns of the representatives of the penyes. The social section of the Club was the main focus.
In addition, they raised the need for the next Assembly to be an exercise in participation, transparency and assumption of responsibilities by the Club’s board of directors. In this sense, those present joined the demand of “Som un Clam” to restore the Assembly of Compromised Members in person, in order to achieve maximum representation and debate in the highest governing body of the Club. Camprubí also took the opportunity to invite the penyistes to the event of public presentation of “Som un Clam”, which is scheduled for this coming 17 October.
A space open to all Barça members
The presence of “Som un Clam” responds to the will of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes to be a space open to all groups of Barça members and supporters who want to express their opinions, as approved in the previous Plenary in July. In fact, last Saturday’s Plenary also had the intervention of Ricard Faura, representing the six opinion groups formed by FC Barcelona members.
In future meetings, the Confederació Mundial de Penyes plans to count on the participation of names such as Víctor Font and Marc Círia, and is also open to receive representatives of the Club itself. This was stated by Antoni Guil, who recalled that the supporters’ clubs movement brings together 163,000 members, of which 18,000 are also Club members, so it represents an important part of FC Barcelona.
