The electoral process in the territorial federations of penyes is coming to an end, and in recent days the winning candidacies have been announced in those regions where it was still pending. Last weekend, it was the turn of the Federación de Peñas Extremeñas del FC Barcelona, which held a double assembly in Valdelacalzada (Badajoz), with the local penya as host. In total, 30 supporters’ clubs of the Extremadura federation were represented during the event.
New president and presentation of the Meeting of Penyes
First, an Extraordinary Assembly was held to ratify the election of the new Board of Directors of the Federation. After an electoral process in which a single candidacy was presented, endorsed by 36 of the 60 penyes that make up the organization, Miguel Ángel Cruz was re-elected as president. Cruz thanked the penyes for their trust to continue leading the Federation for the next four years and introduced the members of the Board who will accompany him.
Later, the Ordinary General Assembly of the Federación de Peñas Extremeñas del FC Barcelona took place. During the meeting, the XIV Meeting of Penyes of Extremadura was presented, which will be held on March 21, 2026, in Almendralejo (Badajoz), commemorating the 15th anniversary of PB El Pino de Almendralejo. The day concluded with a fraternal lunch with all attendees. The Extremadura federation thanked PB Valdelacalzada for organizing the event and the Town Hall for providing its facilities. The town’s mayor, Francisco Javier Hormigo, was present at the event.
