The PB Faió celebrates its 15th anniversary with three days of activities

The supporters’ club from the Federació de Penyes de Lleida Sud i La Franja brought together young and old with a full program that included the “Ambaixades” conference

The Penya Blaugrana de Faió (Federacio de Penyes de Lleida Sud i La Franja) celebrated its 15th anniversary with an intense weekend full of activities for all ages in the town. Despite the high temperatures, Faió was bustling for three days with sports tournaments, games, culture, and a festive atmosphere, once again demonstrating the strong blaugrana spirit that unites the town. The supporters’ club also had the support of local businesses and associations for the celebration.

Sports and fun for everyone

Thursday kicked off with the first rounds of the padel tournament, which brought together 18 male, female, and mixed pairs. The format featured quick matches played to 15 points or 10 minutes, awarding three points for a win and one for a draw. On Friday, the quarterfinals and semifinals were held with more intense matches to 21 points or 12 minutes, culminating in a full-set final. Trophies were awarded to the winners, runners-up, best female pair, and best mixed pair.

Friday afternoon featured various leisure activities for all ages.. The “guinyot” championship had 10 pairs, while the chess tournament had 8 participants.. There was also a children’s futsal match, and for the youngest, PB Faió organized kids’ games and a blaugrana drawing workshop. These drawings will be featured on the penya’s Christmas card for the upcoming holidays. Additionally, the penya hosted a Holi Festival Culé where the youth ended up covered in blaugrana powder.

“Embassies” conference and final celebration

Saturday featured the “Ambaixades. Història de les Penyes del FC Barcelona” conference, led by Salva Torres, vice president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, and coordinated by Aksana Vayevoda. The event took place at the Faió cinema and was well attended. Afterwards, at the same venue, supporters enjoyed Barça’s victory over Mallorca in the first league match.

The open-air dinner, with around 160 attendees, was the highlight of the 15th anniversary of the PB Faió. Gifts were raffled, tournament prizes were awarded, and a giant figure of Lamine Yamal was unveiled. Led by the president of the PB Faió, Magnòlia Mestre, the celebration welcomed notable guests such as Lluís Pérez, member of FC Barcelona’s Social Commission; Rafael Zuviría, member of the Agrupació Barça Jugadors; Roberto Cabistany, mayor of Faió; and the aforementioned Salva Torres. Also noteworthy was the participation of supporters from PB Fraga i Comarca and PB Mequinença.
