Just before the start of the new school year in the United States, the Penya Blaugrana de Fresno (FCB World Federation) participated in the organization of a solidarity initiative aimed at families in need in this Californian city. In collaboration with the organization Love Peace Fútbol and the supplier Triple S Soccer, the Barça supporters’ club distributed backpacks, school supply kits, and football shirts to the children who attended the event, all of whom come from low-income immigrant families. Additionally, the community action included organizing several football pick-up matches, making it a very special day for the young participants. The event was a great success.
This is the second year that Penya Blaugrana de Fresno collaborates with this initiative. Its members participate as volunteers and also contribute the school supplies that are later distributed to families. Earlier this month, the penya also took part in another community initiative where a Barça shirt was raffled. In doing so, the PB Fresno demonstrates its commitment to strengthening its community, supporting youth in their educational journey, and helping families in need. These values of solidarity are what define the Barça penyes movement around the world.
