Last Saturday, the London district of Covent Garden became a true Barça hotspot on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Penya Blaugrana London. The supporters’ club, which belongs to the FCB World Federation, organised a day full of different activities for its members and friends, with whom it wished to celebrate four decades of blaugrana passion in the UK capital. The event brought together a total of 160 people during an evening filled with Barça spirit from start to finish.
An evening full of activities
The 40th anniversary of PB London included activities such as a FIFA tournament and various games and quizzes to test the supporters’ knowledge. A photobooth was also set up so attendees could show their most festive side. The winners of the FIFA tournament and the quizzes, as well as the best photo submissions, were rewarded by the penya, which also raffled off several gifts. Moreover, thanks to the collaboration of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, attendees were able to take photos with the La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League trophies, which became true highlights of the party.
Another key moment of the event was the performance by the PB London orchestra and choir, which added a very special musical touch to the evening. The percussion and chants of the London penya also had their well-deserved moment, as PB London practically has its own “grada d’animació” at all match viewings, gatherings and trips. A DJ added the final touch to this 40th anniversary celebration.

Presence of international penyes
The celebration was joined by other supporters’ clubs from the FCB World Federation who wanted to accompany PB London on this special day. Travelling from China, the Penya Blaugrana Shanghai participated with a group led by its president, Ping Wu, who exchanged gifts with the president of PB London, Eduard Manas. Members of penya FCB Kolkata from India and the Penya Barcelonista San Francisco from the United States were also present.
This union of international supporters’ clubs demonstrates the camaraderie this movement fosters among Barça fans all around the world. It also highlights PB London’s status as a benchmark, having over its 40-year history established itself as one of the most dynamic, festive and well-travelled penyes internationally. A true ambassador of Barça passion in a football-loving city like London.
