The Penya Blaugrana Vandoeuvre Lorraine, of the FCB World Federation, has collected nearly 100 kilos of clothes, toys and children’s books through its Football Academy. This is the successful result of the charity initiative that the French penya launched at the beginning of February and lasted throughout the month, to help social organizations in their town. It is a participatory project in which the members of the PB Lorraine themselves and many families of the children who train every week at the academy have contributed. Thanks to all the contributions, 65 kilos of women’s and children’s clothes were collected, together with around 30 kilos of toys, plushes and children’s books.
The penya has already made the first delivery of the collected material, namely toys and books, to the MECS Children’s Home in Vandoeuvre, which belongs to the Realise Association. In this way, PB Lorraine will contribute to the well-being of disadvantaged children served by this social organization. The clothes collected will soon be handed over to the ‘Maman Solo’ association, which will provide them to single mothers with few resources to improve their quality of life.

Una peña con un gran espíritu social
This collection of clothes, toys and books adds to the numerous solidarity initiatives that the PB Lorraine Academy carries out every year. At the end of last year, the club held a 5-a-side Football Tournament to raise awareness of the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and also commemorated Pink October for the fight against breast cancer. The supporters’ club is also currently participating in a battery collection campaign together with the FC Dieulouard football club to protect the environment.
The PB Lorraine grassroots football Academy, located in the municipality of Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, already fulfills a social function itself, as it offers an opportunity for the sons and daughters of poor families to learn to play football and perfect their technique. It also organizes camps and tournaments to encourage youngsters to play football. The PB Lorraine Academy is registered in the Federal Educational Programme of the French Football Federation.
