The Legends Classic between Barça and Real Madrid came to India for the first time, and the massive local FC Barcelona fans responded with a huge mobilization led by the penyes of this Asian country. PB Kerala, FCB Mumbai, FCB Delhi, FCB Hyderabad, FCB Pune and FCB Nagpur did not miss out on the unprecedented visit of great Barça legends to their territory and gathered many of their members in the city of Mumbai, which was the venue for the match against the legends of the eternal rivals.
Passion in the streets, in the stadium and with the players
The great Barça atmosphere created by the Indian supporters’ clubs could already be felt in the hours leading up to the event, with a large gathering of dozens of fans singing and cheering on the team, with FCB Mumbai as hosts. Some Real Madrid fans also joined in, in a show of concord between the two crowds. At the DY Patil Stadium, FCB Mumbai displayed a large banner demonstrating the blaugrana passion in their city, and there were also numerous scarves and flags from all the penyes present, who cheered on the team troughout the match.

On the other hand, some members of PB Kerala and PB Delhi had the opportunity to meet the players of Barça Legends. Names such as Javier Saviola, Xavi Hernández, Carles Puyol, Patrick Kluivert, Giovanni da Silva and Sergi Barjuán shared a reception with the supporters. It was a very emotional meeting for all the culers, especially for the youngest member of FCB Delhi, who was present at this reception.
A devoted fan base
Although the result of the Legends Classic did not go the way of the blaugrana, the visit of the Barça Legends to Mumbai was quite an event in India; practically comparable to a visit by the first team. The passion with which football and Barça are experienced in the Asian country is palpable in the penyes that bring together hundreds of Barça fans to watch the matches, take part in sporting activities and participate in multiple events. For all of them, it was an unforgettable weekend.
This Sunday, the Legends Classic moves to Mexico, specifically to the city of Toluca, where a great atmosphere is also expected.
