The Plenary of the Penyes Council re-elects Antoni Guil as president

The meeting at the headquarters of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes marked the beginning of the 2025–2029 term, with six new members joining the Penyes Council

Last Saturday, the headquarters of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes hosted a new Plenary of the Penyes Council, which included the participation—either in person or online—of representatives from the vast majority of the 30 federations of penyes. The Plenary was chaired by Antoni Guil, who during the session was re-elected as president of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes by the members of the Penyes Council. Thus, Guil will lead the organization during the 2025–2029 term that has just begun.

Likewise, the Plenary served to define the composition of the Penyes Council, following the completion of the electoral process held over the past few months in the 30 territorial federations. For this term, the Consell includes six new members who won the elections in their respective federations and who were welcomed: Jordi Murillo (Federació Baix Llobregat), Jaume Sans (Federació Anoia, Alt Penedès i Garraf), Joan Amigó (Federació Tarragona Nord), Àngel Serra (Federació Ponent Nord), Juan Salvador Martí (Federació Comarques de Castelló), and Miguel García (Federación Castilla y León). The Plenary also expressed its gratitude to the six outgoing presidents for their work over the years, with emotional moments during their farewells.

Update of other subjects

Among the various items on the agenda, the financial closure of the 2024–2025 fiscal year and the proposed budget of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes for the 2025–2026 season were presented. There was also an update related to Aficiones Unidas. This entity, which brings together 34 supporters’ clubs federations from teams in the 1st and 2nd Division, 1st and 2nd RFEF, has José Ángel Hidalgo as its new president, elected last September, and counts the Confederació Mundial de Penyes as a prominent member.

With the intention of being an open space for all groups of members and supporters wishing to share their views, it was agreed that the Confederació will be open to any pre-candidates for the FC Barcelona election who wish to present their ideas. To conclude, the Plenary extended holiday wishes to the entire community and reaffirmed the commitment to continue promoting FC Barcelona and advancing the project of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, launched in 2015.
