True to its tradition, the Peña Barcelonista Villabalter celebrated a new edition of its major Christmas initiative: the XVII Solidarity Christmas. This action reinforces the penya’s mission to promote Barça values in its community and to help groups for whom the holiday season is especially meaningful. In addition to the traditional visits to three local social centers, the PB Villabalter once again included its drawing contest, the Blaugrana Christmas Contest, now in its XI edition. All activities were supported by the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, the Federación de Peñas de Castilla y León, the San Andrés de Rabanedo City Council, and FC Barcelona.
Social work filled with Barça spirit
The first visit was to the State Reference Center for Disability and Dependency, where PB Villabalter held a talk about Barça and screened audiovisuals of the best moments of 2025, such as the Clásicos against Real Madrid and the return to Spotify Camp Nou, among others. All the center’s users were thrilled about the team, and one of them received an FC Barcelona jersey.
Children and teenagers were the stars of the next visits, held at the Trobajo and Pinilla Cultural Center. Eighteen boys and girls participated, with the attendance of the mayor of San Andrés de Rabanedo, Ana María Fernández Caurel, and the Personnel Councilor, Andrés Vidales. Members of PB Villabalter’s board listened to the life stories of the youngsters and shared with them the positive values conveyed by sports and Barça spirit, such as motivation, perseverance, teamwork, respect, and self-confidence.
The last visit was to the Day Center for the Elderly, where the traditional Christmas artistic performance took place, featuring some of the center’s users and several PB Villabalter members. Participants included Jorge Moreno, president; Recaredo Fernández, vice president; Julio Alonso, treasurer; Fernando Barazón, board member; and supporters Marce Deu, Toni Bragulat, and Marina Freire. Attendees received Blaugrana gifts and enjoyed a very special day thanks to PB Villabalter.
XI Blaugrana Christmas Contest
The XI Blaugrana Christmas Contest rounded off PB Villabalter’s activities during the holiday season. This year, the drawing contest received a total of 56 entries under the theme of positive emotions conveyed by sports. The penya selected winners in each of the four categories, who received an official Barça jersey. Moreover, the winning drawings will be used as PB Villabalter’s Christmas greeting.
