The VIII Literary Contest of the PB Foment Martinenc is announced

The penya of the Federació Barcelonès Est will distribute 700 euros in awards, in what has become one of the most popular initiatives within the supporters’ club collective.

The Penya Blaugrana Foment Martinenc (Federació Barcelonès Est) has launched the VIII edition of its Literary Contest. Once again, the blaugrana organization is calling on all penya members, associates and Barça fans in general to demonstrate their narrative skills by writing a short story in which Barça plays a leading role of some kind. The text, which can be in Catalan or Spanish, cannot exceed three pages in length and must be signed with a pseudonym. The deadline for submission is September 5, 2024. The delivery must be done via email to pbfm55@gmail.com, with the subject “VIII Certamen Literari de contes del Barça”.

The PB Foment Martinenc will distribute 700 euros in awards: 300 euros to the best story, 200 euros to the second and 100 euros to the third, plus a parallel prize of 100 euros to the best work written by a member of the penya, as long as it does not win one of the other three. The jury will be made up of people with literary knowledge. The awards to the winning stories will be delivered during the month of November, coinciding with the 69th anniversary of the PB Foment Martinenc.

A contest of great prestige

After seven editions, the Literary Contest of the PB Foment Martinenc has become one of the most popular initiatives within the penyes world. In addition to numerous entities of federations of the Catalan territory, there have also participated penyes from the federations of Murcia; Aragon, Navarra and La Rioja; Castilla y Leon; Extremadura; or Andalucia, Ceuta and Melilla. More than 20 different penyes have taken part of it over the years.

On the other hand, the Literary Contest has also counted with the participation of well-known names of the journalistic world linked to Barça: Santi Ovalle, David Salinas, Alex Delmás, Cecilia Martínez, Sique Rodríguez, Albert Llimós or Esther Fega, among many others. Even a former Barça player like Paco Martínez took part in one of the editions. The PB Foment Martinenc, chaired by Àngel Pérez, expects again a very good participation in this VIII edition.
