The Federación de Peñas Barcelonistas de Extremadura put on its best clothes on the occasion of the XI Supporters’ Clubs Meeting of this territory. The organisation brought together a large representation of its supporter’s clubs (51 out of 64) in Navalmoral de la Mata for its most special celebration of the year. This meeting took place within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the Peña Barcelonista Morala, located in that town.
The meeting began with an assembly with the supporters’ clubs in attendance. In this meeting, the president of Federación de Peñas de Extremadura, Miguel Ángel Cruz, took stock of the current situation of the organisation, also regarding the movement in general. Antoni Guil, president of the Supporters’ Clubs World Confederation, also intervened to clarify doubts in relation to the new regulations approved by the FC Barcelona Board of Directors last January, and also to present the future projects of the organisation that represents the 30 Federations that make it up.
Conference about the history of supporters’ clubs movement
Afterwards, the conference ‘History of the FC Barcelona Supporters’ Clubs’, given by the vice-president of the Confederation, Salva Torres, reviewed the more than 100 years of history of the group and its evolution up to the present day. Here, Guil took the baton to underline the unwavering desire by the Confederation and its Federations to continue working for the supporters’ clubs, offering them benefits and added value.
This commitment was also reflected in the presence of seven other Federation presidents: Daniel Peinado (Fed. Castilla-La Mancha); Rafael Pichardo (Fed. Andalucía); Ximo Grifol (Fed. Castelló); Esteban García (Fed. Madrid); Pablo Asensio (Fed. Cantabria y Asturias); and Salvador Cerviño (Fed. Galicia).
About the new regulations
The meeting was attended by the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, and members of the Board of Directors, Antonio Escudero and Josep Ignasi Macià. The new supporters’ clubs’ regulations were also the focus of attention. In this regard, the president Joan Laporta, in the framework of the brotherhood meal, presented the option of rethinking it in consensus with the supporters’ clubs movement.
