Penya Indobarça and the Indonesian Manchester United supporters’ club join forces against childhood cancer

“Culers” and “Red Devils” supporters played a friendly football match in Jakarta in support of the Pita Kuning Foundation, which helps children with cancer from disadvantaged families

On 23 May 2026, Penya Indobarça celebrated the 17th anniversary of its founding, and it did so by showing the values that define it and that are shared across the entire movement of FC Barcelona penyes. The Indonesian blaugrana group took part in the “Cepak Bola” event, a friendly football match against United Indonesia, the Manchester United supporters’ club in the Southeast Asian country. The match, played in the city of Jakarta, was organised by the Pita Kuning Foundation, which supports disadvantaged families facing cases of childhood cancer.

Donation of nearly €1,000

The match was played in an atmosphere of respect throughout and ended with a Penya Indobarça victory in the penalty shootout. In any case, the result was the least important thing on a day when the spirit of solidarity prevailed above all else. In this regard, special mention should be made of the funds raised by the Barça supporters’ club: Rp 20,530,714, equivalent to nearly €1,000. Penya Indobarça thanked all the sections of the penya that collected donations until this total amount was reached.

In this way, Penya Indobarça turned the celebration of its 17th anniversary into an act of solidarity aimed at improving the lives of young people fighting cancer. Together with the members of United Indonesia, it also showed that rivalry between fan bases disappears in the face of a cause like this. The penya hopes to inspire all its members in this way and to continue spreading the values that define the entire Barça fan community.
