Two penyes from the FCB World Federation recently took part in respective penyes tournaments organised in their cities. They were the Penya Barcelonista de Nova York, which played in the 2nd edition of the Rivals Cup against supporters’ clubs of European teams, and the Peña Rincón del Barça en México, which retained its title in the Torneo de Peñas organised by LaLiga in Mexico City. At both events, the penyes commitment to respect and a positive atmosphere was clear, beyond the colours they defend.
The 2nd Rivals Cup in New York, with a charitable focus
PB Nova York took part in the 2nd edition of the Rivals Cup, a tournament between New York-based supporters’ clubs that stood out for its clear charitable focus. The Barça penya shared the spotlight with the Real Madrid, Chelsea, Everton, Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal supporters’ clubs. On this occasion, the blaugrana team fell just short of the final after being unable to overcome the Everton supporters’ club. Beyond the competition itself, the 2nd Rivals Cup stood out for raising more than $1,000 for New York Common Pantry, an organisation that fights hunger among disadvantaged people in New York City.

PB Rincón del Barça en México, two-time champions
As for PB Rincón del Barça en México, it once again shone in a new edition of LaLiga’s Torneo de Peñas in its city. Once again, the team representing the Barça entity dominated the competition and retained the champion’s title it had already won last year. It also claimed the tournament’s top scorer award. In addition to PB Rincón del Barça, this edition of LaLiga’s Torneo de Peñas in Mexico featured supporters’ clubs of Real Madrid, Betis, Osasuna, Celta de Vigo, Sevilla, Valencia, Sporting de Gijón and Real Oviedo. None of them managed to beat the blaugrana team, which celebrated the title with great euphoria.
