The 9th edition of the Mixed Night 7-a-side Football Tournament “Get Hooked on Good Habits”, organised by Penya Blaugrana Sant Cugat (Federació de Penyes del Vallès), brought together a total of 150 boys and girls across 15 different teams at the Can Magí Municipal Football Ground in Sant Cugat. The event, co-organised by the local company TeamPartners, received support from Sant Cugat City Council and was sponsored by the Gimbernat i Tomàs Cerdà University Schools, helping to consolidate this sporting, recreational and educational initiative.
Football and good habits for all young people
The Mixed Night 7-a-side Football Tournament “Get Hooked on Good Habits” is aimed at young people from the 1st to the 4th year of secondary school from educational centres and youth organisations in Sant Cugat. The competition was divided into two categories: 1st-2nd year, with 9 participating teams, and 3rd-4th year, with 6 teams. The sides, always mixed and with a minimum female presence on the pitch, played at least three 15-minute matches, and all received a commemorative tournament shirt.
Beyond the sporting competition, this event stands out for including awareness workshops on healthy habits. This year, they were delivered by sports psychologist Miriam Cardoner and Red Cross Sant Cugat, and they contributed to the teams’ final standings. In this way, the event combines sport, togetherness and the promotion of good habits among young people in Sant Cugat.
The 9th Mixed Night 7-a-side Football Tournament “Get Hooked on Good Habits” was attended by Josep Maria Félez, president of PB Sant Cugat; Xavi Requeno, manager of TeamPartners; Bernat Picornell, deputy mayor of Sant Cugat City Council; Roger Ruiz, coordinator of the 3rd year of the Physiotherapy Degree at the Gimbernat i Tomàs Cerdà University Schools; Alfredo Bergua, councillor at Sant Cugat City Council; Xavi Cortés, board member of SantCugatCreix; and Frederic Brasó, board member of Òmnium Sant Cugat.
