Last Sunday, the Penya Blaugrana de Parets del Vallès (Federació Vallès) celebrated its 44th anniversary in an event that counted with the collaboration of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes. As usual, the day started at noon with a new edition of the Josep Seguer Memorial, with which the penya remembers the legendary player of the “Barça de les Cinc Copes”, born in Parets. This year, an U14 match was played between FC Barcelona and CF Parets, which ended with a victory for the blaugrana team in a penalty shootout. The match was attended by Josep Seguer’s son and his family, who received the recognition of those presents and made the ceremonial kick-off.
Then came the 44th anniversary celebration party, which brought together a hundred people. In addition to honoring its oldest and youngest members, the PB Parets del Vallès also presented the 3rd Alexia Putellas Award for values in women’s sports, which this year went to Sandra Sanchez, referee of the Spanish Women’s Basketball League. Present at the event were the president of the PB Parets, Joaquim Esteve; the mayor of Parets del Vallès, Francesc Juzgado; the sports councilor, O’hara Valdivia; and the former blaugrana player Alberto Manga. There were also representatives of the PB Sant Cugat and the PB Montmeló, both from the Federació Vallès.
Also, at the PB Saint-Juéry
Also on Sunday, the Peña Barcelonista “Gabriel Lòpez Solà” Saint-Juéry (FCB World Federation) organized a special celebration with its members, on the 15th anniversary of its creation. The president of the French penya, Jean Saiz, led the event, which was attended by the president of the PB Bordeaux, Cyril Roux, as well as supporters from Agen, Nice and Toulouse. The celebration was also attended by the mayor of Saint-Juéry, David Donnez, along with representatives of other local associations, demonstrating the roots of the PB “Gabriel Lòpez Solà” in the municipality of Saint-Juéry.
During the event, there were FC Barcelona gifts for those present and also a commemorative cake. Activities were also organized, such as a petanque tournament. One of the highlights was the congratulation video that the PB “Gabriel Lòpez Solà” Saint-Juéry received from former Barça player Ludovic Giuly, who now sponsors this penya. It was a very special day for all those present, who agreed to meet again soon.
