One of the big new features of the EA Sports 2023-2024 League, which kicks off in a month’s time, fully involves a very valuable group within Spanish football: the fans. This agreement was announced by La Liga last week, under which 15 La Liga clubs will establish a fixed pack of 300 tickets at a price of 30 euros for away fans. This historic decision, which will directly benefit all fans, whether they are club members, season ticket holders or supporters’ clubs’ members, responds to a long-standing demand by Aficiones Unidas, which has been fighting for a long time for this change.
The organisation brings together 36 federations of supporters’ clubs from First and Second Division teams This includes the Confederació Mundial de Penyes del FC Barcelona, with which Aficiones Unidas promotes a large part of its future projects, always with the members and supporters as the main focus. Thanks to their insistence, and the constant relationship with La Liga, it has been possible to reach this agreement, which was announced after the XIX National Congress of Supporters’ Clubs of Aficiones Unidas.
An agreement has been in place for years in the Second Division
The offer of tickets at affordable prices for away supporters is a project that Aficiones Unidas has already successfully promoted among Second Division clubs. In this case, the organisation managed, a few years ago, that the teams in the 2nd category of Spanish football established a ticket price of 15 euros for the away team’s fans. On the other hand, this measure has also been applied for years in a reference competition such as the Premier League.
The fight for the rights and benefits of Spanish football fans has been a priority for Aficiones Unidas since its creation in 1999, as well as the concord between all of them. These are values that the Confederació Mundial de Penyes fully shares.
