The Penya Barcelonista Montcada i Reixac (Federació Penyes del Vallès) culminated the commemoration of its 50th anniversary in the penyes movement with a gala party last Friday. The event, held at the restaurant Can Piqué in Montcada i Reixac, was attended by several personalities from the world of FC Barcelona, led by its president Joan Laporta. A total of around one hundred Barça supporters attended.
Also participating in the celebration was the first team futsal player Sergio González, who is a native of the city of Montcada i Reixac, as well as the president of the Agrupació Barça Jugadors, Juan Manuel Asensi, and the social vice-president of FC Barcelona, Josep Ignasi Macià. The town representation was formed by the mayor of Montcada i Reixac, Bartolo Egea, and the sports councilor, Carles Vilalta. The president of the PB Montcada i Reixac, Jordi Gómez, was the main host for all of them.
The day reviewed the 50 years of history of the PB Montcada i Reixac and ended with the blowing of candles on the commemorative cake. The supporters of the penya from the Vallès region were summoned to continue to travel to Montjuic to cheer on the team, and also to the organization of the traditional Charity “Quinto”, which is held every Christmas. During the last few months, the PB Montcada i Reixac has carried out several activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary, including a historical photographic exhibition at the penya’s headquarters, which was a great success in terms of visits.
