Futsal marathons take center stage at PB Montmeló

The Vallès-based penya organized the 10th Women’s 12-Hour Futsal Tournament and the 9th Men’s 24-Hour Futsal Tournament, with great participation success

True to its annual tradition, the Penya Blaugrana de Montmeló (Federació Vallès) once again hosted its traditional futsal marathons at the Pau Casals School Pavilion in its town. Once again, the penya, part of the Federació de Penyes del Vallès, reaffirmed its commitment to this sport, with support from the Montmeló City Council and the penya itself. The events were marked by a high level of competition among all participants, but above all, by a fantastic atmosphere both on and off the court.

12-Hour Women’s Futsal Tournament

The first tournament, held in early July, was the 10th edition of the Women’s 12-Hour Futsal Tournament. The competition featured six teams and around 60 players. PB Montmeló highlighted both the excitement and the high quality of the matches, which included a round-robin phase followed by semifinals and a final. In addition to trophies for the champions and runners-up, the PB Montmeló also gave awards to the best player and best goalkeeper. With this initiative, the penya once again demonstrated its strong commitment to women’s sports.

24-Hour Men’s Futsal Tournament

A week later, it was time for the 9th edition of the Men’s 24-Hour Futsal Tournament. This time, twelve teams took part, starting with a first stage with three-team groups featuring home-and-away matches, followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. It was a full day of competition where the high level of play and the balance between teams stood out. As in the women’s edition, the PB Montmeló emphasized the great atmosphere throughout the event, which became a true celebration of sport for the entire Vallès community.
