New edition of the Family Paddle Tournament of the PB Benissa Avi Joan Casals

More than 30 players of all ages participated in a day marked by a good atmosphere and fair play

The Penya Barcelonista Benissa Avi Joan Casals (Federació de Penyes de València i la Marina Alta) recently organised a new edition of its annual Family Paddle Tournament, an event that is already very popular in the locality, and which is open to both members and non-members of the penya. The venue was the Pádel Center in Benissa, which welcomed more than 30 players between the ages of 10 and 55. The tournament was played over a whole morning and was divided into two categories, children and senior, with the common denominator being the great atmosphere among all participants.

The PB Benissa Avi Joan Casals proposes its Family Paddle Tournament with a purely recreational objective, with the aim of sharing a day of sport and blaugrana passion in an atmosphere of fraternity. So much so that the penya has decided not to award prizes to the winners and to always prioritise fair play in each match. The success of this tournament once again confirms paddle as one of the favourite sports within the supporters’ clubs movement.

Upcoming events

Looking ahead to the spring of 2025, the PB Benissa Avi Joan Casals is already preparing another sporting activity that promises to mobilise many sportsmen and women in the town. This is the 8-a-side Football Tournament in which, together with the Barça supporters, the penyes of Atheltic Club and Valencia CF present in Benissa are also expected to take part. It will be, therefore, a new show of harmony through sport promoted by the PB Benissa Avi Joan Casals, and which fits in perfectly with the figure of Avi del Barça, to whom they constantly pay homage.

On the other hand, the PB Benissa Avi Joan Casals is still waiting to define the date for the central celebration of its 30th anniversary. The entity already started the celebrations at the beginning of October with several activities at the fair of associations in their municipality.
