Over 200 culers at the 25th Meeting of Penyes of Castelló

The PB Vora Sèquia of Castelló hosted an event that turned the city blaugrana and featured the conference “Els orígens de la Simbiosi”

After the large gatherings held in Terres de l’Ebre and Galicia earlier in June, last weekend it was Castellón’s turn to host the 25th Meeting of FC Barcelona Penyes of the Castelló Region. The event was organized by the Federació de Penyes de les Comarques de Castelló and the PB Vora Sèquia, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and brought together over 200 supporters for two days of festive atmosphere and Barça passion.

Conference “Els orígens de la Simbiosi”

The gathering kicked off on Friday afternoon with the presentation of the conference “Els orígens de la Simbiosi”, the first part of the “Barça i Catalunya” series. The hall at Hotel Luz in Castelló was filled to hear Salva Torres, Vicepresident of the Confederació Mundial de Penyes, and Xavier Gamper, grandson of FC Barcelona’s founder, with Aksana Vayevoda handling coordination and technical aspects. Attendees learned more about the early years of FC Barcelona and its connection to Catalonia’s social and political context.

Parade and reception at City Hall

The next day, Plaza Pont i Gol welcomed the attending supporters at the XXV Meeting of Penyes of Castellón with a popular breakfast. Then came the blaugrana parade featuring banners from the 16 participating penyes, accompanied by a batucada and a performance by Conlloga Muixeranga of Castelló. The parade marched through several streets of the city until reaching Plaza Mayor, where an official reception was held at City Hall by Vicent Sales, Councillor for Institutional Relations.

The Barça delegation included Emili Marmaneu, President of PB Vora Sèquia; Antonio Escudero, Social Vice President of FC Barcelona; Juan Salvador Martí, Vice President of the Federació de Comarques de Castelló; and Carlos Martínez, Delegate of the Advisory Council in Castellón. Also present was a former player and member of the Agrupació Barça Jugadors, Pere Valentí Mora. All of them gave speeches during the gala that closed the gathering, where gifts were also presented to the host penya. The great atmosphere and pride in the first team’s achievements this season defined the entire event.
